I was directed to personal training for a variety of reasons. I like educating people on the benefits to exercise and how to live a healthy lifestyle. It brings much joy to me when I have helped someone achieve their goals. I became very health-conscious when my father was diagnosed with cancer, and knew that I really wanted to help others in disease prevention. Working in a Physical Therapy office has also helped me understand the importance of injury prevention and given me the knowledge to train those with orthopedic injuries. I also enjoy training anyone who is willing to work and has the "I can" attitude, older adults, or any person who has been diagnosed with a chronic disease such as cancer, diabetes, arthritis, hypertension, or other serious medical disorders. I graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in Health Promotion and Wellness, and I am an American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Certified Personal Trainer.

I have been personal training for more than eight years. From 2005-2007, I worked with the Cincinnati Red's Strength and Conditioning Program. I currently run a Post Surgical Rehabilitation Center, where I rehab patients who have had neck and back surgeries. I know personal training is not affordable for everyone, but I think everyone should work with a trainer even for a short amount of time to insure proper posture, form and lifting technique. This will reduce your risk of injury and keep your body working as efficiently as possible. Your workout may not be hurting you now, but if proper posture and technique are not followed, the wear and tear on your body and joints will affect your life tremendously in the future. I see it everyday in my rehabilitation center. I enjoy helping others reach their fitness goals. I also educate people on the importance of exercise, proper lifting, body mechanics and posture. I have my bachelor's degree from the University of Cincinnati and I am a National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

I believe being fit is a lifestyle. Attaining a higher level of fitness can make your everyday activities easier and help you live a healthier, more enjoyable life. The hardest part of working out is just getting started each day. It helps to find activities you enjoy and do them on a consistent basis. I have a B.S. degree in Exercise Science and am an American College of Sports Medicine certified Health Fitness Specialist. If you get bored with your workout, try something different. I exercise several days per week in a variety of activities including "break-dancing," some other styles of dancing, biking, hiking, weight training, sports, swimming, snow skiing and other fun and exciting indoor activities.

Bill Hoffar
I have been a personal trainer for seven years. I am American Council on Exercise (ACE) certified and graduated from Westminster College with a bachelor's degree. I lettered in tennis in high school and college. I have run six marathons, with the last one in London. My hobbies are golf, tennis, cycling and keeping fit. My philosophy of personal training involves safety, form and progression. One needs to move forward safely in resistance, sets, repetitions and time allotted. The body only reacts when it is asked to meet new challenges. I train all ages from 30 to 80, which has proven to be a marvelous and rewarding experience.

I have always loved to be active and I can not think of a better job than helping people change their lives, physically, mentally and spiritually. As a personal trainer, it is my job to motivate clients and create environments of success. Workout intensity trumps time and frequency. If you put in the effort, you WILL achieve results. Our mind sets limits before our bodies have a chance to achieve our goals. Use proper progression and the results are boundless.

AQUATIC PERSONAL TRAINERS
Terry Youngs
I have been an aquatics and fitness professional for more than 35 years,. I was a marathon runner and triathlete-athlete. I started personal training but added aquatic personal training as a service I provided since it allows exercise with reduced stress on the joints. Personal training has allowed me to make a big difference in the quality of life of the people I have trained. I have helped three women lose and keep off more than 100 pounds each. My greatest success as a personal trainer was with a friend who was at least 100 pounds overweight, pre-diabetic, hypertensive and had high cholesterol. She had also lost a kidney to cancer. We worked together until she completed her first successful triathlon. Whenever we talk, she always says "I owe my life to you." Today, she is happy to enjoy an active life and she loves spending time with her grandchildren.
I have certifications as an AEA personal water trainer, AEA Group Fitness, ISSA Personal Trainer, Pilates Mat Instructor, Johnny G Spinning Instructor, Arthritis Water Instructor, American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor, CPR, First Aid, and WSI Trainer.
